Beautiful Example Porsche 911
Porsche introduced a prototype of the 901 series to the public at the Frankfurt International Automobile show in September, 1963. Actual production didn't begin until September, 1964 and by that time the model designation became 911. In February 1965, the Porsche 911 model reached U.S. shores.
The 1965 U.S. car came with a 2.0 liter, 130 horsepower engine. It was equipped with a five speed (type 901) transmission that has the dogleg shift pattern with 1st gear left and down. The car was standard with a single circuit hydraulic braking system and 4 wheel disc brakes. Rack and pinion steering utilizing a 13mm front anti-sway bar gives the driver great feedback. All this was yours for $6,500.

The 1966 911 is almost the same as the 1965 model with a few exceptions. One of the changes is Weber carburetors instead of the Solex models.
Porsche introduced the 912 model in 1966. The 912 is a 911 with a four cylinder engine that was sourced from the Porsche 356. Hey, it looks as good as a 911!
